The trial is expected to conclude, but the date has not yet been set.

The expert witness representing the defendant, Tokyo Metropolitan Government (Mr. Nakajima Susumu, a doctor at Toranomon Hospital) will be questioned.

The trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2019, and will begin on Wednesday, May 19.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the national government have raised objections to our arguments based on Professor Okada Masanori's written opinion regarding Article 6 of the State Compensation Act, as well as the arguments in Dr. Maeda's written opinion regarding the cause of Mr. Arjun's death, etc.

The plaintiff in the first instance is planning to submit a rebuttal based on a doctor's opinion.

Thank you for attending the first session despite the short notice. Many spectators, including university students, participated in the event, which made us realize once again the social importance of this incident. On the second date, we will make arguments not only in writing but also orally regarding the unconstitutionality and interpretation of Article 6 of the National Liability Law (mutual guarantee principle), the violation of the duty of care that we claim, and the cause of death. The appeal court hearing is about to begin. We will submit a researcher's opinion on the principle of mutual guarantee, which the defense team has recently prepared, and provide an explanation of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's grounds for appeal.
