The power plant emits a significant amount of air pollutants, including PM2.5, as well as CO2 emissions equivalent to the entire city’s output. With the visible impacts of climate change, the role of the judiciary in preventing damages is being questioned. In March 2023, the Supreme Court dismissed the plaintiffs’ appeal and rejected their application for a review in the administrative lawsuit against the government.
