2015年5月、寝たきりの高齢者のお宅で家事業務や介護業務のため、住み込みで1週間ほぼ24時間休みなしで働いていたAさんが亡くなりました。しかし、国は家事労働者には労働基準法が適用されないことを理由に労災を認定しませんでした。
遺族は、家事労働者に労災が認められないのは不当だとして、不認定処分の取り消しを求めて提訴しました。これは、すべての家事労働者の権利回復に関わる裁判です。 In May 2015, Mr. A, who lived in the house of a bedridden elderly person and worked almost 24 hours a day for a week, died. However, the government did not certify workers' compensation on the grounds that the Labor Standards Act does not apply to domestic workers. The bereaved family filed a lawsuit, claiming that it was unfair that domestic workers were not allowed to receive work-related injuries, and sought to have the disapproval disapproved. This is a trial about restoring the rights of all domestic workers.

6月27日(木)13時半から、東京高裁511号法廷にて、判決前の最後の控訴審が公開法廷で行われます。原告遺族が法廷で10分程意見陳述を行い、本裁判を闘う意義を改めて裁判官に訴える予定です。

そこで、当日の裁判傍聴支援に参加いただける方を広く募集いたします。ぜひ多くの支援者で傍聴席を埋め、原告を支援するとともに、裁判官や社会に対して関心の高さをアピールできればと考えています。

傍聴支援に参加頂ける方は、東京高裁の5階511号法廷に直接お越しください。

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. The final appeal hearing before the verdict will be held in open court at 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 27th in Courtroom 511 of the Tokyo High Court. The plaintiff's family will make a 10-minute statement in court, and will appeal to the judge again about the significance of fighting this lawsuit. Therefore, we are widely recruiting people who will participate in supporting the trial on the day. We hope that many supporters will fill the courtroom seats to support the plaintiff, and demonstrate a high level of interest to the judge and society. If you would like to participate in supporting the trial, please come directly to Courtroom 511 on the 5th floor of the Tokyo High Court.
