市民と司法をつなぐプラットフォーム「CALL4（コールフォー）」の運営に関わる、学生向けの説明会を開催します。
CALL4では、さまざまな分野を学ぶ学生が、メンバーとして活動しています。
公共訴訟に関して原告や関係者の思いを伝え、応援者を集めるケースサポート、SNS投稿やPodcastなどコンテンツ企画・制作活動、イベント企画などなど、活動の内容はさまざまですが、共通しているのは、「社会で起きていることを知り、誰かに届け、社会を少しずつ動かしたい」という思いです。
法律の知識は必ずしも必要ではありません。それぞれの学びや関心、好き、得意を持ち寄りながら、一緒に活動しています。
今回の説明会では、CALL4がどのような活動をしているのか、そして学生たちが実際にどんなふうに関わっているのかをご紹介します。
「関わってみたいけれど、何ができるかわからない」
「大学で学んでいることを、社会のために活かしてみたい」
「一人ではできないことにチャレンジしてみたい」

※各回とも同内容で実施予定です

■対象
専門学校生・大学生・大学院生
・理系、文学・哲学、芸術系、情報系などを専攻の方も大歓迎です。特別なスキル・知識は必要ありません
・一部対面での活動もありますが、基本的にオンラインでどこからでもご参加いただくことができます。

「大学1年生の夏に、周年フェスに訪れた事をきっかけに学生メンバーになりました。法学部所属ではないですが、元々冤罪事件や法廷における科学の在り方に興味がありました。しかし、実際にメンバーとして、訴訟の原告の方や弁護団の方のお話を直接聴くことで、今まで目に入っていたのに見ないできたことや考えてもいなかったことに気が付かされ、社会への視野も非常に広がったように思います。CALL4のメンバーも皆温かい人ばかりで、学生として学校ではできない経験を積みながらも、息のしやすいコミュニティに属せる有難さを日々実感しています。」
「私は今年の春に参加し、CALL4記事の英訳やケースサポート、訴訟に関わる人の思いを伝えるPodcastの台本作成・収録・編集などに取り組んでいます。共同代表・丸山さんへの新書に関するインタビューも収録しました。
記者や他のNPOでも活動する方をはじめとした魅力的なメンバーと話すたびに、「もっと知りたい」と興味の幅が広がり、考えを深めるきっかけをもらっています。
大学1年生で、法学を専門に学んでいるわけでもない私に何ができるんだろうと思いながら、軽い気持ちで説明会に参加しました。そこで感じた雰囲気に惹かれてメンバーになり、本当によかったです。」

We are hosting an information session for students interested in helping to run “CALL4,” a platform that connects citizens with the judicial system.
Students studying a wide variety of fields are active as members of CALL4.
Our activities range from “case support”—conveying the perspectives of plaintiffs and other stakeholders in public litigation and rallying supporters—to planning and producing content such as social media posts and podcasts, as well as organizing events. While our activities vary, what unites us is the desire to “learn about what’s happening in society, share that information with others, and bring about gradual change.”
Legal knowledge is not strictly required. We work together by bringing our individual areas of study, interests, passions, and strengths to the table.
At this information session, we’ll introduce the kinds of activities CALL4 engages in and how students are actually involved.
“I’d like to get involved, but I’m not sure what I can do.”
“I want to apply what I’m learning in college to benefit society.”
“I want to take on a challenge I couldn’t do alone.”

■Target Audience
Vocational school students, undergraduate students, and graduate students
Students majoring in science, literature, philosophy, the arts, information technology, and other fields are all welcome. No special skills or knowledge are required.
While some activities will be held in person, you can generally participate online from anywhere.

"I became a student member after attending the anniversary festival during the summer of my freshman year. Although I’m not a law student, I’ve always been interested in wrongful conviction cases and the role of science in the courtroom. However, as a member, listening directly to the plaintiffs and the defense team has made me realize things I’d overlooked or never even considered—even though they were right in front of me all along."
"I joined this past spring and have been working on translating CALL4 articles into English, providing case support, and writing, recording, and editing scripts for podcasts that convey the perspectives of those involved in litigation. I also recorded an interview with Co-Representative Maruyama about his new book.
Every time I talk with our fascinating members—including journalists and people active in other NPOs—my curiosity grows, and I find myself wanting to learn more, which helps me deepen my thinking.
As a freshman in college who isn’t even majoring in law, I attended the information session on a whim, wondering what I could possibly contribute. I’m so glad I did—I was drawn in by the atmosphere there and decided to become a member."
