はじめての裁判傍聴ツアーVol.7 【「立候補年齢引き下げ訴訟」意見陳述を傍聴しよう！】を開催いたします！
公共訴訟のことは気になるけれど、ひとりで裁判傍聴に行くのは少しハードルが高い。
そんな方に向けて、CALL4が傍聴ツアーを企画しました。
この機会にぜひ、一緒に裁判を体感してみませんか？
今回のケースは、「立候補年齢引き下げ訴訟」です。

現在の公職選挙法の下では、国会議員、地方自治体の首長、自治体議員の選挙に立候補するためには、「25歳以上」「30歳以上」といった年齢制限が課せられています。
その結果、政治の場では中高年の議員や首長がその多くを占めており、若い世代の声が政治に届きにくいのが現状です。また、若者の投票率が向上しないのも同世代の立候補者がいないことが原因であるとも言われています。
選挙権年齢よりも立候補年齢を高く設定する理由については、立候補者には相応の社会経験や思慮分別が必要であると説明されていますが、年齢制限を許容する科学的な根拠は何一つありません。
OECD加盟国など先進国の間では、選挙権年齢や成人年齢と立候補年齢を統一することで、18歳から立候補を認めることがスタンダードになりつつあります。
この裁判の原告は、現在の立候補年齢がなぜ不合理なものであるかを司法の場で明らかにするとともに、ロビイングなど国会への働きかけをとおして、長期的な視点を持った10代・20代の声を社会に届けるためのルールメイキングに挑戦しています。

今回傍聴ツアーを実施するのは、こちらの訴訟の第1審（東京地裁）の第2回口頭弁論期日です。
被告国が訴状に対する反論等を行う予定です。
そして、原告の久保遼さんが意見陳述（法廷スピーチ）を行う予定です。
原告側の主張を皆さんにも改めて聴いていただける機会となります。
ー傍聴ツアーの流れー
【集合】12/25（月）13:30
東京地裁正門前にお集まりいただきます。
今回の期日が傍聴券配布事件（抽選）になる場合は、抽選にお並びいただきます。
※必ず法廷で傍聴できることをお約束するものではありませんのでご了承ください。
【裁判傍聴】14:00～14:15 (予定)
この日は、原告の久保遼 さんが意見陳述を行う予定です。
※傍聴は途中入退室自由です。
【報告会＆交流会】14:30〜15:30 (予定)
傍聴終了後は、裁判所から歩いて行ける会場に移動して、弁護団による報告会と交流会を行います。

Let's hear the questioning of a witness of the "Lawsuit for Lowering the Age of Candidacy” case.
Are you interested in public litigations? But you have never been to a court hearing? It is a bit of a challenge to go to a court on your own. CALL4 has organized a court hearing group tour for everyone interested in public litigations.
Anyone can observe court proceedings, and you don’t even need to bring your identification documents to enter a court. Attending a trial also gives power to the plaintiff and shows the court that the case matters to us! Let’s attend a court hearing together!
This will be the seventh court hearing tour organized by CALL4. We are going to visit the questioning of a witness of the "Lawsuit for Lowering the Age of Candidacy” case.

Brief summary of the case:
In Japan’s aging society, where the older generation dominates the political arena, it is difficult for the voices of the younger generation to be heard. The unchanged age of candidacy since the post-war era restricts young people’s political participation and makes it difficult for them to engage in politics. A politics that embraces the voices of teenagers and people in their 20s with a long-term perspective will create a more sustainable and livable society in Japan. In pursuit of a society where the voices of the younger generation are heard, we propose lowering the age of candidacy.
