この裁判は、環境と暮らし、地方自治、そして「平和の島」を守るために、市民が声を上げた闘いです。 In Kagoshima Prefecture’s Mageshima, the construction of a massive base for joint use by the Self-Defense Forces and the US military is underway. Forests are being torn down, the sea is being polluted, and the island’s natural environment and fishing livelihoods are being lost. Yet, without providing citizens with adequate explanations or allowing for proper debate, the city decided to sell city-owned land and abolish a municipal road. This trial is a fight where citizens raise their voices to protect the environment, their livelihoods, local autonomy, and the Island of Peace.
