私は、金属アレルギー症状があるのに刑務所で無理やりひげを剃られ、これを拒否したことを理由に懲罰を受けました。自分で訴状を作って提訴し、一審でひげ剃りと懲罰が違法だったことが認められました。ただし、このほかの刑務所の違法行為については認められず、慰謝料額はわずかです。控訴審ではこのほかの刑務所の違法行為を争い、慰謝料の増額を求めています。これは受刑者の権利や刑務所での人権保障のあり方を問う裁判です。 I suffer from metal allergies, yet prison staff pinned down my arms and forcibly shaved my beard. I was even subjected to ten days of disciplinary punishment for refusing to be shaved. I drafted a complaint by hand and filed a lawsuit against the government from inside the prison. In the first-instance judgment, the forced shaving and punishment were ruled illegal, but the awarded damages amounted to only 180,000 yen (approximately USD 1,200). In the appellate court, I am challenging other unlawful acts by the prison and seeking increased compensation.

金属アレルギーの症状があるにもかかわらず、刑務所で職員に両腕を押さえつけられ、無理やりひげを剃られました。ひげ剃りを拒否したことを理由に10日間の懲罰まで受けました。手書きの訴状を作り、刑務所から国を訴えました。一部勝訴の一審判決を経て、今は控訴審で争っています。
