２０２１年３月６日、名古屋入管に収容されていたウィシュマ・サンダマリさんが死亡しました。２月１５日に行なわれた尿検査はウィシュマさんが饑餓（きが）状態にあることを示していました。自分で体を起こすことも、食事をすることも、トイレもできないほど衰弱していました。しかし、ウィシュマさんに適切な医療は提供されませんでした。この訴訟を通じて、なぜこのようなことが起きたのかを明らかにしたいと思います。 On March 6, 2021, Ms. Wishma Sandamali, a detainee at Nagoya Immigration Bureau, died. She was too weak to sit up, eat, or use the toilet by herself. However, no proper medical care was provided.

２０２２年５月１２日午後１時２０分から名古屋地方裁判所において進行協議を行ないました。原告代理人は１３名（うち９名はオンライン）が出頭しました。被告側は９名が出頭しました。
関係者多数のため、来年２月までの期日が設定され、今後期日ごとに１回分先の期日を設定することになりました。
第1回口頭弁論期日（２０２２年６月８日）には原告本人２名の意見陳述と、原告代理人の冒頭陳述を行なう予定です。被告は同日までには踏み込んだ答弁をせず、第2回口頭弁論期日（２０２２年７月２０日）に実質答弁がされる予定です。
原告から、ウィシュマさんの居室のビデオを早期に任意提出することを検討すると共に、任意提出しない場合には文書提出命令を申し立てるため、あらかじめ提出に向けた準備に着手し、期日を空転させないようにしてもらいたいと申し入れをしました。被告は検討するとのことでした。
The pretrial conference was held in the Nagoya District Court at 1:20 p.m. on May 12, 2022. Thirteen plaintiffs' counsel attended (nine of whom were online). For the defendant's side, 9 persons attended.
Due to the large number of parties involved, a date was set until next February, and one date will be set ahead for each date in the future.
On the first oral argument(June 8, 2022), two plaintiffs will make statements of opinion and plaintiffs' counsel will make opening statements. The defendant will make a substantive answer on the second oral argument(July 20, 2022).
The plaintiff requested the defendant to consider voluntarily submitting the video of Wishma's room as soon as possible. If not, we will file a motion for an order to get it, so just start preparing to submit the video, and avoid delaying the date. The defendant said he would consider the matter.
