We submitted a statement from the person concerned and requested an examination.

We requested the questioning of not only the person in question, but also the detention center staff and doctor who initially decided to provide him with a soft diet, the doctor who continued to examine him afterward, and the registered dietitian who was involved in providing the soft diet.

However, the court stated that at this time, they did not see any need for questioning other than the person in question.

We also requested that the questioning of the person in question be conducted in an open court, but we were told that this would be difficult due to the prison's security measures.

The next date is still being finalized, but we plan to conduct the interrogation at the prison in late October or November.

We have submitted our written statement and also submitted Exhibits B5 and B6.

At the next hearing, we will finalize who will be questioned.

Furthermore, I will submit a statement from the individual by the next deadline.

This is a report regarding the deadline of April 17th.

On this day, we confirmed that the documents submitted by the government would be used in court.

The government submitted a medical opinion stating that dietary restrictions are necessary for treating reflux esophagitis, and arguments were made in line with this opinion.

Furthermore, we confirmed that the government will dispute our claim that the plaintiff had hardly eaten any soft foods before March 11, 2022.

Based on the above, we have decided to submit a rebuttal to the government's written statement by May 29th, and to revise our arguments by reviewing and compiling information on the consumption of soft foods prior to March 11, 2022.

The next hearing will be held on Friday, June 5th, at 4:30 p.m., and this will also be a web-based preparatory hearing.

At today's hearing, we submitted our preparatory documents and submitted documents containing medical records and meal contents in prison as evidence.

Mr. A was transferred to prison last summer, but since being transferred there he has been taking prescription PPIs and eating a normal diet.

Instead of porridge, I eat regular rice, bread, and noodles.

He is also eating fried foods and pork, which he was not allowed to eat at Osaka Detention Center.

Unlike the food Mr. A eats at Osaka Detention House, the food he eats in prison contains normal amounts of spices.

However, Mr. A does not show any symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Such details are contained in the documents and evidence submitted.

The government will submit a written response by March 31st.

The next hearing will be held on Friday, April 17th at 1:30pm.

Today, I submitted our preparatory documents and the opinion of my doctor.

The government submitted as evidence medical records from the time the lawsuit was filed until the plaintiff was transferred.

My doctor's opinion was that apart from prescribing PPIs, there was no need to impose any further dietary restrictions such as restricting my diet to porridge.

The next session will be on Thursday, February 5th at 1:30pm.

This time, we have requested the government to disclose the inspection records up until the plaintiff was transferred, and we are also collecting additional evidence.

The document states that the provision of soft vegetable meals is not mandatory for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease,

Regarding the content of the soft vegetable diet, the report pointed out that the heavy use of soy protein, as seen in Osaka Detention House, is not seen in society or in other penal facilities.

The next hearing will be the date for the defendant (government) to make a rebuttal.
