100年もの間、人々により守られ親しまれてきた神宮外苑が今、破壊の危機に瀕しています。都民のみならず国民全ての貴重な歴史的遺産であり、緑豊かな憩いの場である神宮外苑を現在の状態のまま次世代へ繋いでいきたい。行政の恣意的な手続をただしたい。その思いで周辺住民らが、2023年2月に東京都に再開発認可取り消しを、7月に新宿区に樹木伐採認可取り消しを求める訴訟を提起しました。計画の正当性を司法に問います。 Jingu Gaien, a green oasis in the center of Tokyo that has been cherished for nearly a century, is now on the brink of being destroyed by a large-scale redevelopment scheme. The beautiful views we see today may soon disappear. But with your help, we can preserve this special place for future generations. Area residents went to court in February, seeking to revoke the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s approval for the redevelopment of the area and in July seeking to revoke Shinjuku Ward’s approval to cut down the trees. 先日もご報告しましたが、２０２３年７月に始まりました、神宮外苑の樹木伐採許可取り消し訴訟（対新宿区）が、計１０回の口頭弁論を経て結審しました。５月１２日に判決が出る予定ですが、その前にこれまでの訴訟の流れの報告会と、今後の訴訟運営のための新組織発足の総会を、３月２９日（日）に行いたいと思います。新宿区は現在も次々と再開発に関する許可を出しており、今後も法的手続きが引き続き必要な状況です。ぜひ皆さまご参加いただけますと幸いです。

As I reported recently, the lawsuit against Shinjuku Ward to revoke the permit to cut down trees in Meiji Jingu Gaien, which began in July 2023, has concluded after a total of 10 oral arguments. The verdict is scheduled for May 12th, but before that, we would like to hold a briefing session on the progress of the lawsuit so far and a general meeting to establish a new organization for managing the lawsuit going forward on March 29th (Sunday). Shinjuku Ward is still issuing permits for redevelopment projects one after another, and legal procedures will continue to be necessary . We would be grateful if you could all participate.

２５年１２月の期日までに原告が提出した主張書面、証拠、２６年１月に被告が提出した主張書面、証拠を確認しました。
次回の期日は５月２８日（木）１１：００に４１９法廷となっています（日時が変更になったのでご注意ください。）。
裁判所から２６年１月にあった釈明事項について双方が４月２４日までに主張書面等を提出することになりました。
合わせて、被告側の準備書面について原告側から反論の主張書面等を提出することになりました。
次回の期日は口頭弁論期日のため、原告以外の方も傍聴可能ですので、ぜひ傍聴にご参加ください。

The Court reviewed the Brief and evidence submitted by the Plaintiff in December 2025 deadline, and the Brief and evidence submitted by the Defendant in January 2026.
The next Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom #419 (please note that the date and time have changed).
The Plaintiffs will submit their Brief for a rebuttal to the Defendants' Brief.
Both Parties will submit their Brief and evidence in response to the Court’s clarification by April 24.
As the next Hearing is an Oral Argument, it is open to the public (including those other than the Plaintiff), so we encourage you to attend.

東京都訴訟の進行協議期日が５月１５日（木）１５：３０から開催されました。
進行協議期日は原告以外は参加・傍聴ができない非公開の手続です。
原告側が、２０２５年２月に提出した原告準備書面（４）とそれに関する証拠について誤記等を修正した書面等を再提出したので、その内容を確認しました。
次回期日までに、
・被告側は原告ら準備書面（３）、原告ら準備書面（４）、原告長谷川準備書面（２）における原告側の主張（本件事業認可処分の違法性に関する）の反論を検討し、必要と考える部分について反論の主張立証をすることとなりました。
・原告側では原告適格に関する補充の主張立証を行うとともに、原告適格に関する専門家の意見書が提出できるかどうか検討し次回期日までに状況を報告することになりました。
次回期日は９月１６日（火）１４時３０分に進行協議期日となりました。
それぞれの反論の書面等については、８月２９日（金）締切で提出することになりました。

神宮外苑の近隣に60年以上暮らす新宿区民の中垣るりさんが行いました。

On Thursday, August 8th, the fourth oral argument was held in the lawsuit against Shinjuku Ward to revoke a tree cutting permit.
After the oral argument, a press conference was held at the Judicial Press Club.
The opinion statement was given by Yoshiko Murata, an environmental journalist who was born and raised in Shinjuku.
The event was conducted by Ruri Nakagaki, a Shinjuku resident who has lived near Jingu Gaien for over 60 years.

11月6日（月）新宿区に対する樹木伐採許可取り消し訴訟で、第一回口頭弁論が実施されました。原告の明日香壽川氏（東北大学教授）、竹内昌義氏（東北芸術工科大学）、山崎氏（350 New ENEration）が意見陳述を行いました。こちらの訴訟については当日のNHKの「ニュース7」「ニュースウォッチ９」、翌日のNHK「おはよう日本」などで全国放送され、大きな反響を呼びました。
