受刑中に十分な医療を受けられず死亡した男性の母と婚約者が起こす国家賠償請求訴訟です。刑事施設の対応は適切なものであったかどうか、そして、日本の刑事施設の医療体制は十分なものであるといえるかを追求します。この訴訟は、刑務所のあり方について社会全体で考えるきっかけとなる、公共訴訟です。皆様のご支援をお願いいたします。 This is a state compensation lawsuit filed by the mother and fiancé of a man who died without receiving adequate medical care while imprisoned. We will pursue whether the response of the penal institution was appropriate, and whether the medical system in Japan’s penal institutions can be said to be adequate. This lawsuit is a public lawsuit that serves as an opportunity for society as a whole to think about how prisons should be. Thank you for your support.

6月29日に第２回口頭弁論期日が開かれました。
期日では今後の進行について協議し、
次回期日までに被告側から訴状に対する反論書面が提出されることになりました。
期日には、前回期日の傍聴ツアーに参加してくださった方もまた傍聴に来てくださいました。
傍聴人がいらっしゃると裁判所や被告側にもこの問題の関心の高さを伝えることができますので、
大変ありがたかったです。

On the date, discuss the future progress,
The defendant is expected to submit a counterargument to the complaint by the next date.
On the day of the meeting, those who participated in the hearing tour on the previous day also came to the hearing.
The presence of the audience will allow us to convey the high level of interest in this issue to the court and the defendant.

第１回期日の傍聴ツアーを開催しました。
期日直前のご案内となってしまいましたが、
定員いっぱいのご予約をいただきました。
期日傍聴後は報告会、意見交換会を行いました。
さまざまな年代、バックグラウンドの方にご参加いただき、
それぞれ率直なご感想をいただきました。
報告会には原告のおふたり、亡くなったAさんの勤務先社長も参加されて、
みなさまからの温かいメッセージにとても励まされました。
とてもいいツアーができたと思います。
ご参加いただいたみなさま、本当にありがとうございました。

Although it was announced just before the deadline,
We have received a reservation full of capacity.
After the hearing on the date, we held a debriefing session and an opinion exchange session.
We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to participate.
We received honest feedback.
The debriefing session was attended by the two plaintiffs and the president of the company where the deceased Mr. A worked.
I was very encouraged by the warm messages from all of you.
